2024 - 2025 Expenditure
1. The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity
Intent
- To continue to encourage greater physical activity in our children, to empower children to make positive healthy lifestyle choices.
- To continue to increase the children’s activity levels in response to their decrease due to lockdown.
- Increased access to and involvement in physical activities during school lunchtime.
- Develop positive attitudes towards health and fitness, and develop social and emotional well-being through physical activity.
- Ensure readiness to learn following physical activity.
- Pupil fitness and fundamental movement skills developed through extended provision.
Implementation
- Continue to offer at least 2 hours of High Quality Physical Education and physical activity per week.
- Continue to participate in Scootability and Bikeability Schemes.
- To maintain and replenish the play equipment for the Play Partners and for personal class use.
- Implement the Play Partner programme to its fullest, alongside LSA professional development in order to improve our play offer.
- Continue with the Daily Mile.

Intent
- Children benefit from high quality sports lessons as part of the curriculum entitlement.
- Develop strong leadership of sport and strengthen networking between local schools of all types: primary, secondary and SEND.
Implementation
- Our Curriculum Leader of PE will also be a member of our Senior Leadership team, supported by the current Curriculum Leader. This will ensure that this remains a high priority.
- Align leadership role within the IB subject area of PSPE.
- Leaders to attend available CPD sessions both within LAT and beyond, close work with the PE Curriculum Advisor will continue.

- Increased standards of pupil attainment, against Key Stage Attainment Target.
- Increased enjoyment and positive attitudes through more lessons aligned with the PYP principles.
- Participation in enhanced quality teaching and learning opportunities, leading to better outcomes for pupils.

- Subscribe to PE Hub to provide CPD, sequences of learning and detailed guidance to staff.
- Establish a schedule of CPD for teachers and LSAs.
- Invest in staff gaining/ implementing swimming instructor qualification.

Intent
- PE Hub Scheme of Work
Implementation
- Classes are taught using the scheme to improve the standards of PE taught from all teachers by providing detailed and descriptive lesson plans, differentiated to challenge all pupils.
Impact
- Ensures the full PE curriculum is being delivered to a high standard. Ensures consistency in the teaching of PE throughout the school.
- Improved standards in Primary PE lessons to ensure that all pupils access a broad and balanced curriculum. This allows them to learn skills in a wide range of sports and a variety of activities can be expertly delivered. Support for PE co-ordinator allows for increased capacity to support all staff for a longer term. Staff CPD programme has also driven improvement.

Implementation
- Pupils will have access to a range of high quality equipment during PE lessons and after school sessions.
Impact
- Improves the overall quality of PE delivery. Improved standards in Primary PE lessons and to ensure that all pupils access a broad and balanced curriculum. A range of resources are readily available and lessons cater for a range of different abilities.

3. Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils
Intent
- Continue to improve the range of after school sports clubs offered
Implementation
- More pupils are able to attend a wider range of sports clubs, including; Gymnastics, dance, cricket, football.
- APA Target: To ensure that all disadvantaged and SEN pupils consistently benefit from opportunity and exposure to our wider curriculum opportunities to develop individual interests and talents. Where this is not the case, strategies are in place to ensure that any barriers to this curriculum are removed. The Expenditure is used to provide a subsidised Breakfast Club and a wide range of free after school clubs.
Impact
- Pupils benefit from extra-curricular physical activity, both developmentally and socially.
- All children are provided with opportunities to represent our Academy in sporting events. This has led to raised participation levels in extra-curricular clubs. Coaching provided over the course of the school year, ahead of the games, to ensure an increased engagement in physical activity and competition.

- To enable teams and individuals to attend a range of sporting events, to participate in and have experience in competitions within the wider community.
Impact
- Pupils benefit from the opportunity to compete in competitions and represent the school, both individually and as part of a team. All children are provided with opportunities to represent our Academy in sporting events. This has led to raised participation levels in extra-curricular clubs. Coaching provided over the course of the school year, ahead of the games, to ensure an increased engagement in physical activity and competition.
