After School Club at Leigh Academy Molehill is open to all children from Reception to Year 6.
This club starts at 3:15pm, straight from school finishing and has two pick up times available to collect children.
These are:
- 4:30pm
- 5:30pm
After School Club costs £10 per session
Sessions must be booked and paid for on the MyChildAtSchool app (MCAS) in advance.
Our After School Club is a welcoming and supportive space where children can relax, learn, and have fun after the academy day ends. We offer a wide range of engaging activities designed to spark creativity and build new skills, from arts and crafts to film afternoons and board games. There is also dedicated time set aside for homework and reading, with staff available to offer guidance and support. To keep them fueled and focused, we also provide a variety of healthy snacks. It’s the perfect place for children to make friends, try new things, and end their day on a positive note!
Do children benefit?
Research shows that After School Clubs have a significant positive impact on children’s development.
Studies suggest that children who attend are up to 20% more likely to improve their academic performance, as dedicated homework time helps reinforce classroom learning. Furthermore, over 70% of parents have also reported improved social skills and confidence in their children when they regularly attend an After School Club. Access to healthy snacks during this time also supports better concentration and energy levels, helping children thrive both academically and socially.
Teachers have also noticed an improvement in social skills due to After School Clubs giving children more opportunities to build friendships, work as a team, and develop confidence outside the traditional classroom setting. Additionally, children who attend tend to show better focus and behaviour during the school day, likely because of the extra support and structure provided by the club.

Monday:
- Music Monday – instruments, Just Dance, singing
Tuesday:
- Arts & Crafts – drawing, painting, junk modelling
Wednesday:
- Wellness Wednesday – free choice of activities
Thursday:
- Board & Strategy Games – games, puzzles, educational activities, word searches
Friday:
- Film Friday – children will be able to choose from a variety of films.
Late Collection from After School Club
The After School Club closes promptly at 5:30pm. If you are late collecting your child, a late fee of £1 per minute will be charged. This fee is to cover the cost of the staff members who are legally required to stay on-site until the last child is collected.
Non-Collection from School at the end of the day
If a child is not collected on time at the end of the school day and has not been booked into the After School Club, they will be transferred to the Club for their safety. In this instance, a £10 charge will be applied in addition to the standard session fee of £10.

Cut off to book After School Club
Cut off for parents to book on the app for after school club is one day prior. If you would like to book in at short notice the office can book this in before 12pm and the cost for this would be £10. If the office is called after 12pm to book this will be based on whether we have capacity and, if we do, then parents will be charged an emergency booking of £20.
